   THANKS FROM US !!    7 July, 2021

From the start of the year, a number of village residents have spent some of their spare time clearing litter and waste from the shoreline and the roadside verges.  This clean up stretched all the way from the Waberthwaite viaduct through the village and along the A595 roadside verges as far as the Saltcoats turn off, a distance of over 3 miles. It will always be an ongoing task but the improvement has been significant and visible to all. So again, many thanks.

Village Paths and Shoreline

The Coastal Way has seen improvements local to the village with any shortcomings now mostly sorted, the summer bringing the usual issues in keeping the path sides clear of vegetation.

There also remains the problem of removing the wrecked boats on the shoreline. However, the earlier work to clean up the shore plus the Coastal Way improvements have greatly assisted in submitting the case for community funding to remove the wreckage, as it is all part of the same overall project, just on a larger scale.
